The story of The WHITE WOLF vs The BLACK WOLF
A young Indian Warrior went to the Medicine Man for some answers to a problem he was having that had been troubling him for a while.. He asked him “Medicine Man, I have a white Wolf on my 1 shoulder & a Black wolf on the other & they are constantly fighting! Which 1 is going to win?”
The Medicine Man smile and answered ……. “THE 1 YOU FEED THE MOST!”

Feed the WHITE WOLF
Understanding, kind, empowering, loving, appreciating, uplifting THOUGHTS create a PICTURE of the slim, healthy YOU. When you have this PICTURE in your mind it can create a FEELING of achievement, pride & success. Feeling this way creates an upbeat, happy, optimistic MOOD and this can give rise to a “can do”, light, easy & positive BEHAVIOUR.
Feed the BLACK WOLF
Unforgiving, negative, guilty, angry, depreciating THOUGHTS create a PICTURE of a still overweight, unhappy YOU. This leads to a FEELING of anger, failure & disappointment. Your MOOD becomes heavy & miserable, which can create a negative, pessimistic, anti social BEHAVIOUR.
I found as I progressed on my weight loss journey, that it became more and more important to MANGE my thoughts and only ALLOW positive supporting thoughts. In the past, my weight loss had always been sabotaged by my negative self talk that seemed to creep in as soon as I hit a “difficult” patch.
And those difficult patches did crop up, but only seemed to last for a day or 2. Was I going to throw away all the success I had already achieved because of a little bump in the road? HELL NO! By making NEW CHOICES to MANGE my thoughts and CHOOSE which wolf to feed I stayed on track and achieved my goal weight.
We are all human and an error in judgment CAN happen so remember “to err is human, to forgive divine. Be kind, understanding & forgiving of yourself, put the mistake behind you, celebrate all your triumphs, and make a new commitment to yourself and MOVE FORWARD!
So, a new week lies ahead, filled with possibilities, adventures and weight loss triumphs …. and maybe also some temptations. CHOOSE which wolf you are feeding, MANAGE your thoughts - your success on this Slender Wonder
