YOUR WEIGHTLOSS COMMITMENT – to YOURSELF!

I have been asked many times over the past few weeks - “How did you do it? How did you stay focussed & not cheat?”  


At the start of the Challenge, I looked myself square in the eyes and made a commitment, to MYSELF that I was going to do what it took to get to my GOAL WEIGHT! I was determined to stick to the roadmap and get to the end destination as quickly as possible.

How good is YOUR word?


Think about this ….. how do you FEEL when someone gives you their word to do something and then they don’t deliver on that promise? What do you think & feel when the excuses start?

I Know how I feel …  I feel annoyed, disappointed, frustrated, angry & let down ( all very negative, yucky feelings). And then the excuses start and it’s “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah “.  I know there could be valid reasons but let’s face it, most of the time the excuses are just BS!


Whether I break my word to myself or to others, the effects on me and others are the same. In fact when I break my word to myself I feel worse! THAT is when the negative, self destructive self talk starts. I know that in the past, my inner voice was very unkind!


I have been down this weight loss road a few times, with varying success, but I never had a sustainable plan to MAINTAIN the weight loss and so, over time, I would return to my unhealthy eating habits and before I knew it, I was back where I started … and sometimes even more.


The INNER VOICE would start up again – ““You see, you can’t do this”, “What’s wrong with you”, “Where’s your self discipline”, “You’re just no good” - and so the vicious cycle would start again.


SOUND FAMILIAR????

However, this time, I decided that it was time for new choices and new commitments – Slender Wonder had given me the tools!


When I started the Challenge, something Doctor Maureen Allem from Skin Renewal said just stuck in my mind ….  “All we are asking for is your commitment and focus for a short period of time”.  There was the key to success!

I decided that it was time to take action and love & respect MYSELF, to BELIEVE I was worth the time & effort to make the commitment & give this my best 100% shot. I GAVE MY WORD …. TO MYSELF …. TO DO WHAT IT TOOK!  ARE YOU GIVING IT YOUR BEST SHOT??


I kept my word, for the time it took to reach my goal weight and what are the feelings I have now? “Excited, joyful, proud, positive, optimistic” Can you see the difference? These are all uplifting, positive feelings J - much better feelings, I am sure you will agree


And my self talk has changed too – “Well done!”, “You are doing great!”, “I am so proud of YOU”, “keep it up, you can do it!”  Kind & empowering talk


YAY!! J The weekend is around the corner & I know it can be a challenging time.  So, give yourself a gift &

MAKE /REMAKE the commitment to yourself and then KEEP YOUR WORD!




WHY?? Because YOU’RE WORTH IT!!
